In todays economy, we understand that spending thousands of dollars on a custom precision shooting system may not be a practical thing to do. But at the same time, we understand that there are those that will never find it within themselves to be satisfied with a box stock "Tactical" rifle. So, we've designed an economical and practical alternative that provides less than 1 MOA accuracy out of the factory Remington SPS Tactical. No high dollar components involved, we utilize every part of the factory rifle by applying a bit of old fashioned attention to detail. We start by inspecting the factory rifle for possible defects, missing or out-of-spec components. If the rifle passes our inspection, we disassemble and perform the following:
-
True Receiver Face
-
Clean-Cut Threads
-
True Lug Abutments in Receiver
-
True Bolt Face
-
True Bolt Lugs
-
Finish Lap Bolt Lugs To Receiver
-
Polish Feed Ramp
-
Set Barrel Back and Match Chamber
-
Re-crown With Our 11 Degree Target Crown
-
Surface Grind and Finish Lap Factory Recoil Lug
-
Open Factory 6-48 Base Screws to 8-40
-
Glass Bed Factory Hogue Stock
-
Test Fire
We guarantee a significant improvement (please see our "Integrated Act") and we'll perform these upgrades at a cost of $999 including the new rifle. The "Skunkworked" upgrade can be performed on your rifle for $500. This package is only offered on Remington SPS rifles that are factory chambered in .308 and we will add customer requested options at an additional line item cost.

These photos were taken after the components were removed from machine set-up and prior to cleaning and finish work. All tooling and fixtures used to perform the "Skunkworked" operation were designed and manufactured in-house. This allows us to perform the necessary machining processes with one set-up and without the use of a steady rest. We employ a chamber flush system that forces cutting fluid through the barrel during the chambering process to remove chips and ensure the best possible finish in the chamber. We chamber each barrel with our own unique process that does not incorporate the use of the tail stock and our reamers are manufactured to our specs. The "Skunkworked" process is based on our own stringent set of standards and machining tolerances and these standards and tolerances are verified during each build by our quality control measures. There are very few in the industry today that offers this level of detail during a rifle build.
